A Day of Triumph: Our First Sports Meet
This year, CADRRE celebrated an eagerly awaited milestone with our very first Sports Meet—a day overflowing with pure joy, tears of pride, and unshakeable determination. Months of meticulous planning went into perfecting every minute detail, ensuring our students felt safe, supported, and completely comfortable. Our staff poured their hearts into it, from preparing the children with social stories and videos of sports meets, to custom-printing vibrant jerseys with the CADRRE logo and each child’s name and preparing the shining trophies and certificates. In the weeks leading up to the big day, regular practice sessions at school shifted to rehearsals at the venue, the historic Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, one of the premier sporting hubs in Kerala.
The morning began with flag hoisting by GVR Sir, flanked by our youngest and eldest students. Then, the stadium came alive with a magnificent march past, led by our eldest student holding the CADRRE flag high. The day was packed with incredible displays of talent and grit: gymnastics by our preschoolers, thrilling running races, sprints, hurdles, shot put, discus, javelin throws, broad jump, race walking, and even inter-group relays. As each event concluded, triumphant smiles lit up the field during the prize distributions; every participant was celebrated. The day ended with the National Anthem, a closing speech by GVR Sir, and a lap of honour around the track by the students’ families.
The event was an overwhelming success. For our parents, it was a moment they had long dreamed of—watching their children participate, compete, and shine on a sports field just like a neurotypical child. Hearts melted as families shared emotional, tearful messages of deep gratitude. Our teachers were moved beyond words, felt immensely gratified, and stood in absolute awe of their students’ achievements. Ultimately, this wasn’t just a sports meet; it was a testament to what love, belief, and dedication can achieve. It was a monumental day for the entire CADRRE family, and we are already counting down the days until the next one!
We are deeply grateful to Thiruvananthapuram Kombans FC for fitting our use of their homeground into their Super League Kerala schedule.
